Dr. Arias Shah works with several professionals (lawyers, physicians, and schools) to help her clients maximize their services, obtaining qualified tailored support in accordance to their circumstances.
Collaborative care involves the expertise of different professionals (multidisciplinary networks) involved or needed, to provide the most appropriate and effective service for clients/patients. Each professional has their own scope of knowledge and skills that will serve well to widen the lens in identifying the different treatment/service options and determine the overlapping implications of some accordingly (medications, case management, therapy, educators, mediation, etc.).
Clients/patients may suffer consequences for the lack of consideration by their service provider. It can actually be potentially dangerous to not collaborate with other professionals, as some professionals may have blinders, and not consider other variables occurring and needs that might be needed to be addressed prior or during their services, etc.
